PV supporters will argue that he would have got the results to keep us up had he stayed. However it seems that he was in a bad place mentally when he was sacked.

Furthermore, his use of (or failure to correctly use) Eze was criminal as Hodgson showed when he came in and gave Eze a bit of support and encouragement.

Of course, we'll never know what would have happened had Vieira stayed but what we DO know is that once Hodgson came in, fears of getting dragged into the relegation battle quickly disappeared.

He's not doing to well at his new club either. One point above the relegation zone and no wins in at least 5 games.

One more point

The only mistake PV made was to play Eze in the wrong position and expect him to be something he is not. Another error was to have the doughnut waisted Osian Roberts as assistant. I don't know if that was PV's doing or first choice.
Do you have a link re whinging players on £50kplus running to the chairman to have a moan?
PV picked up the odd point here and there just enough to hold our 12th place spot, it wasn't pretty, granted. I'm thinking that Roy may be in for a torrid time in December, games against Liverpool, Man City, Brighton, Chelsea, Brentford, and then Arsenal in January. He'll do well just to keep the points ticking over. We'll see.

It really is going to be pot luck isn't it ? Most if not all of the managers mentioned have some credit and something about them that would give us worries about them taking us forward (some would say standing still would be a result)

Its about will they fit ,will they bond with the squad ,will they accept the financial constraints of a mid table club with the challenge of becoming a regular top ten side ?

Yes definitely. Body language of a condemned man waiting for the inevitable. The Derry business was bizarre.
Still, the first season was good, and I think Roy has his work cut out to replicate it, and Parish has a difficult decision in whom to appoint next.

EZE WAS A MISTAKE I AGREE AND PV WASNT PERFECT, BUT FOR THE ENTERTAINING SEASON HE GAVE US THE SEASON BEFORE AND THE NIGHTMARE RUN OF FIXTURES HE HAD AT THE TURN OF THE YEAR I WAS WILLING TO CUT HIM SOME SLACK.

AND IF YOU BELIEVE ALL THAT OTHER BOLLOX YOU REALLY ARE GULLIBLE, FUNNY HOW WE DIDN’T HEAR ABOUT ANY OF THAT THE SEASON BEFORE

Is that the same Vieira who has spent 56m at Strasbourg, and is doing so badly that the fans want him out, maybe he had some tricky games

Or maybe it’s early days, they’ll give him time and he’ll turn it around

I think people are also forgetting how much Doucoure had lost his way / discipline under Vieira and the running stats bore out poor game planning or fitness or both.

With regard to this season we look once again devoid anything unless Eze or Olise are playing just as we did previously with Zaha before they were signed.

In view of the money spent on Franca you'd like to think that the smarter judges at the club have seen something special but it doesn't sound as though he's played many games.

We scored 2 goals from open play in last 16 games under Vieira. He wanted to go for the Leeds job in the February. The players were unfit and unhappy under him. He would’ve been in charge at Arsenal but he went missing on the Thursday after Brighton game (as he had done the previous game v Villa) and wouldn’t answer any of Parish’s calls so they had no choice but to sack him.
