Surely this is a simple question. People making public demonstrations and taking up hours of media time must know exactly what they are campaigning for.

What exactly is this campaign aiming to achieve and how will we know when they achieved it. Any individual supporting the movement surely must know what he or she is promoting. He must be able to write it down.

This is such an emotive subject it’s hard to be objective but for me the reaction to the players’ action is almost a symptom of compassion fatigue. The anti-racism movement has been in full swing for over 40 years - the Rock Against Racism gig in Victoria Park was in 1978 so certainly it started before then - and yet in 2020 we’re still being told how racist we all are. No doubt there was racism in the country decades ago but it’s been so effectively demonised that even people who might hold those views, and I don’t think anyone on here does, would be reluctant to admit it.
