Green Park, a UK consultancy and executive search firm, said in a preliminary report on Wednesday that not one company in the FTSE-100 (comprising the largest companies trading on the London Stock Exchange by market cap) had any Black chairs, CEOs or CFOs for the first time since 2014.

Overall, only 3.4% of the chair, CFO and CEO positions at FTSE-100 companies are held by ethnic minorities, including Asians. The same level as in 2014, when Green Park first began its analyses of UK corporate diversity.

The percentage of Black executive directors and non-executive directors at FTSE-100 firms (including board and executive committee level positions) has slipped to 1.1% from 1.3% in 2014.

In June 2019, 29% of directors of FTSE100 companies were women. In the FTSE250 (the next largest 250 listed companies outside the FTSE100), 27% of directors were women.

Does the word gammon really offend anyone? Obviously theres that really big, long-standing history of discrimination, suffering and oppression associated with a cut of pig.

There's no comparison between the two. The fact that one is referred to as the N-word, as to not offend and the other can be said freely, surely highlights this.

This is correct & generally. its adhered to. Trouble is, a few weeks ago, they & Uefa, turned a blind eye to players parading the 'Palastinian' flag about after ECL/EL games & a few internationals. They even said NO sanctions would befall any player that felt the need to. On the other hand, a few players WERE sanctioned over portraying the Israeli flag.

Go figure.

When all is said and done, much of what has been termed political correctness is only really a form of politeness. We need to hold ourselves to a much higher standard, not want to be dragged down.
