Does that mean they are stupid, or just exercising their democratic right to vote for the party that best represents them? Maybe you believe that democracy should be limited to people who had better opportunities in life? I think a lot of people would quite justifiably be insulted by statements like that. Anyone without a degree would be too stupid to be insulted. I know I am.

Seeing how Trump has gained a lot more votes this time than he did last it’s a good job all those f***ing dimwits don’t have access to any guns or who knows what mischief they’d get up to. Yep. Glad I live in a relatively sane country. The carnage that comes next, whoever wins, could result in civil war. Popcorn stocked.
Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers |

No idea, I don’t have one. As I said, each of us can draw their own conclusions about the general education level of Republicans, and more specifically trump fans, and democrats. I am not oversimplifying the “problem”, just pointing out a matter of fact. A great trick trump pulled, as a billionaire from Manhattan, is to make blue collar people in Nebraska think he was out there fighting for them. That is a phenomena that certainly is not simple. Trump is not the first to pull these particular tricks. Read “how democracies die” and you can see the comparisons with Fujimora, Maduro, Duterte et al. There is a playbook that populist autocrats can follow, it includes attacking the media/the establishment/the so called elites/civil servants/the judiciary etc.

One thing I can’t work out, If Biden wins. As Biden’s policies have barely been mentioned during the campaign, will that result in him having the easiest term ever, or will he be absolutely slaughtered by both Trump voters and his own voters who may disagree with what ever he tries to do. Couple his term with COVID and republicans law suits. He’s walking into a bit of a bare trap.

Did you not see Trump's speech this morning? I did and thought it was extraordinarily awful, even for Trump. Andrew Neil's gobsmacked reaction was priceless. He called it, something along the lines of, "the worst Presidential speech after an election ever". He was right.

That is a phenomena that certainly is not simple. Not sure why it’s brought up if you aren’t making a point or asking a question. Trump’s trick was he realised that there are loads of people that don’t listen to the genuine concerns of the working classes, and constantly denounce anyone that disagrees with them with echoed rhetoric. I wouldn’t call it a trick. I’d call it a failure on the part of the establishment that represented them. No one seems to have stopped to ask why are people voting for Trump, they’d probably not tell you they are voting Trump for fear of being vilified. They can’t all be stupid and racist. Yet the liberals who claim to be more intelligent haven’t come forward with a policy that will address people’s concerns. They keep banging on about the need to bring people together, but I’ve never heard one ever say that they might need to concede some of their policies to make that happen, They just want to “educate” others to think like them.

So again all Trump voters are stupid! No surprise coming from you. After this debacle, which has made the US a laughing stock, the country will be in complete meltdown and turmoil. Not every Trump supporter is stupid, but a significant number are. You really need to be not to see through this guy. A better term might be impressionable, for their capacity to believe obvious conspiracy theories never fails to amaze. Of course, there are also some who are politically aligned to his view of the world and prepared to put up with his nonsense to get what they want, but they are not sufficient on their own. I do though agree about the meltdown, which will be difficult for either to solve, but easier for Biden who is a peacemaker rather than a confrontationist like Trump.
