I would have been very, very disappointed to lose Howe because we couldn't meet Charlton's offer. It sounds like we've made a new offer - I just hope that Eddie isn't put off by the fact that we clearly didn't back him as much as Charlton did initially. He's the man we've identified and, whilst we should certainly not be held to ransom, we should do everything within reason to get him.
