That’s good news.
I met a fellow at the gym this morning - this was his first time since he got COVID in April 2020. He was in a coma for three months and effectively died twice in that time - he’s been told it’ll still be a few months until he’s back to normal. Scary stuff.

Poor chap. Thanks to the vaccines, I hope to avoid that, along with everyone else who has been jabbed.

I hope though it's food for thought for the doubters.

What a nightmare. Plenty of horror stories early days especially prior to the vaccination push. At least the bloke managed to battle through it and sounds like he has the right attitude to health. I wonder how it will impact him if he gets it again, hopefully much less now, but it must be a bit unnerving getting back to normal after being through something like that. Best of luck to him!

Thanks, Teddy and BlueJay for your good wishes. Last night's game cheered me up. Still have a cough that keeps me from sleeping, but I am one day closer to getting rid of it.

We're all with you on that one

Sounds like you're on the mend. Keep us informed!

During a 'discussion' previously I stated that hospitals test all of those who receive treatment as a matter of course and that for the first time more of those people were testing positive than there were people being admitted to hospital with covid.

This data has now been released and confirmed as above.

It shows that transmission rates are now out of control and that asymptomatic transmission is indeed happening.

Today I heard that admission and hospitalisation rates are on the increase due to the fact that everyone now thinks its over.

If you are vulnerable or in a vulnerable group please be careful and make sure that you have had your boaster. It may well save your life.

Annual jabs will be needed for the foreseeable.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

People forget what a successful job the vaccine did in bringing death numbers down. A victim of its own success in a way.

Yes, but then we have the flu jab every season as well. I can see the vulnerable and over 60's having this jab for the foreseeable.

The latest that I'm hearing is that the effects of covid are vascular. i.e. Blood vessels. Hence the breathing difficulties (capillaries) and heart problems (coronary arteries).

This could also an issue for some that have the vaccines. Those who would be susceptible to these issues at some point in their lives

So catch 22. Don't have the jab. Get covid, get banged. Have the jab, maybe have similar, but not as serious, issues.

This why I took an Aspirin every two days.

Update, for those interested. I am feeling a lot better, the coughing is much reduced, and I am sleeping well again. Still have a sore throat and ear ache, but the primary problem is tiredness. If I do anything the least bit active for an hour or more I feel knackered. I first had symptoms about 8 days ago and am still testing positive, today was my 5th day with a positive test.

My wife has now tested negative for 3 days, so tonight has returned to work as the hospital is operating in crisis mode with so many staff off work with Covid, and a surge of Covid patients in the wards. I understand some wards are operating with just 50% of the required staff levels. Not good.

New sub-variant seems very contagious.

Telling really on that count, but entirely predictable of course.

Glad you're on the mend. You'll get there.
