At least the likes of AOC are trying to do something about the single most dangerous issue that will face future generations.

The green new deal is very far from perfect, but while we have collosal morons like Trump in the hot seat we need people to highlight how crazy and dangerous climate change deniers truly are.

Oh I know that some politicians have made strong statements designed to spark people into action and that the precise scale of the problem remains impossible to predict, which results in a variety of scenarios and predictions.

I guess too that some corrupt Governments might see it as an opportunity. After all there are a lot of Governments but in general I think the responsible politicians are trying to do the difficult job of convincing people to have to accept unwelcome lifestyle changes, and spend money on things which don't directly benefit them, for reasons that the deniers say are unnecessary. They have to do that AND still get elected! Not easy.

I don't have a magic solution but I do think we need to take this seriously. There will have to be, as there already is, a multitude of actions taken, some technical, some lifestyle changes.

What I don't yet think there is enough attention being given to is that it is probably already too late to stop it effecting many places. We can help to stop the rise but not completely. So we need to start planning for what this means. I guess this will require us to build substantial sea defences in many places and even to abandon and rebuild in some.

Losing agricultural land in some places but acquiring more in others plus the need to conserve water resources puts technological demands on us. We need to learn to accept such things as GM in order to cope.

I don't mean to be facetious but as someone who speaks passionately about the environment, you have no specific solutions other than moving agricultural land and conserving water. That's no better than the kind of stuff Trump says.

You and the likes of AOC can go on about climate change all you like, but it means absolutely nothing unless you have credible solutions to tackle it. In the end, her Green New Deal got ZERO votes in the Senate. It's like finishing last in a race and saying, 'At least I tried'.

Population is at the heart of all our environmental problems. The only way to fix them is to reduce the human population.

We will not stop developing countries from raping and polluting the Earth just as we have done before so all this green talk is futile.
The undeveloped parts of the world must remain so and every effort must be made to halt and reverse the rise in world population at the earliest time possible. Right now, that is some 200 plus years away.

Don't worry. We might have another ice age by then or maybe Yellowstone will finally erupt. That will take care of the problem.
