The EU has no incentive to offer a better deal. That position is entirely down toe remainers and hence that's why a 'no deal' position has to be the only viable position the Prime Minister pursues. They may say non if we are seeking another open ended extension with nothing on the table. They may say oui to allow time for e.g. a GE or referendum.

Yet his point about the Tory party - and indeed the labour party - is true. A possibly irreversible disconnect between parliamentary party and grassroots support. Had there been a centrist electable opposition they would have ousted the current shambles yonks ago with a landslide and a sufficient mandate to sort this out. Odd times.

Negotiations are a smokescreen for not leaving. Continual delays until it's accepted that we don't leave. Imagine that in 1973 the result of the referendum was not to join the EEC but then the parliament went and joined it anyway ignoring the result. Negotiations are a smokescreen for not leaving.

Continual delays until it's accepted that we don't leave.

Imagine that in 1973 the result of the referendum was not to join the EEC but then the parliament went and joined it anyway ignoring the result.

I see why TM called an election. With a group of blobfish no backbone MPs behind her it's clear as day. She knew this was going to happen. There are some who probably regret not taking one of their 3 chances to vote for her deals.

That was an off the cuff statement by one Minister. When push comes to shove wiser heads will prevail. The biggest problem isn't France, it's Hungary but even they won't want to be isolated.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.
