I just hope we still plan to sign Riedewald. Always said we needed 2 CBS, one who can slot into the first team and one for back up (preferably younger). Would be a real shame to see someone else sign him for as little as 8mil in today's market and for him to then flourish and become a top player who commands a crazy fee. Think, considering Liverpool want 30mil for Sakho - 21 mil or so for both Riedewald and Martins Indi would be a fantastic bit of business.

It seems unlikely we would sign two left sided defenders, especially with Papa Souare hopefully coming back at some point and we would still need cover at right back.

I'd have thought Riedewald's versatility with the fact he's just as comfortable playing in the holding midfield role would mean we'll still go for both. After Luka we don't really have any other DMs having let Ledley and Flamini go.

As I have mentioned before, Riedewald can play as a defensive midfielder so maybe FDB thinks he could possibly play alongside Luca in a 4-2-3-1 or maybe act as cover for Luca hence his versatility as a defender and a midfielder has appeal.Don't know for sure FDBs thinking so just speculating.
