Boy, we had some riotous Tuesday nights here at Wallington Public Hall. Live bands galore from the Stones and Hollies to Gerry and the Pacemakers. Beatles were booked, but they became too popular and cancelled after getting a better booking elsewhere. Also good to see the Dukes Head on Wallington Green. It was the first stop on my paper round.

My old flat in Dartmouth Road, Forest Hill/Sydenham border. This is taken from a book, or rather a series of local history books, and doubtless there is one of Croydon.

Good point dreamwaverider. People forget how expensive and bulky cameras were then they first came out. Plus the cost of developing and half the pictures came back blurred or really dark. Very pleased this thread was started, because personal photos also carry a story. And hardly anyone thought to take photos of everyday life. What's the point in that ? nothings going to change.
