He was found wanting at the world cup and again at , let's face it , was a free run at a , basically, home tournament.
With the players available a , successful manager would have delivered this trophy at least.
We had a one goal head start, Mr risk adverse couldn't capitalise.
Same as in the world cup semi, and he bottled it.
We got to the final despite Southgate, not because of him.

If a black player had scored the penalty that won the Euros I have little doubt that there would be posts praising and highlighting the racial aspect. However, any negative focus brings out the white saviours in their droves.

Funny how you're only allowed to 'celebrate' diversity isn't it.

That they can go one step further and win. They’re young and are only going to get better. They made history this tournament and have it in them to go further next time and lift a trophy.

Why are you lot so weird? Like you couldn’t wait to turn on them for losing on penalties in a final ffs.

I’d just watched the game in a wildly celebrating Scottish pub so maybe my offendometer was already in the red.

My post whilst completely on a wind up, because you would all take the intention of the image the wrong way, seeing as you think the England team are supporting a political group and not the racial equality stance. The image was related to the topic, given the England team's stance on taking the knee and racial equality, the importance of the black players in the team and how well the team were doing.

In addition to that, as I've said on this thread before, being pro-black doesn't mean anti-white. You only seem to think so because historically, being pro-white has only been used to racially antagonise.

I was watching the game with a group of friends, black and white, and there were women in that group who left to go home, before the penalty shootout, to avoid confrontation from drunk, white English fans.

Lo and behold, when 3 black players, 2 of which shoudln't have been given that responsibility to take penalties (but that is a different, Southgate issue), miss a penalty, they no longer are seen as English, they are dehumanised as "blacks" and given a torrent of racial abuse.
