When I started this thread I was surprised that nobody else had done so because the story had been doing the rounds. I put it down to one of two things; nobody wants him, or it's a joke because he doesn't play football anymore. I genuinely thought he would come cheaper or had some sort of injury. I hope he passes his medical and proves his doubters wrong. My honest opinion is that Gary will do well as he has something to prove. His expectations of recent seasons have probably be well below what he expected in terms of opportunities and he is most likely desperate to go out on a high. (Or as high as he can). I expect more headed goals from him than Benteke.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

Big question is whether he actually plays when both Tomkins and Sakho are fit. He seemed to indicate that he didn't want to go anywhere and just be a bench warmer earlier in the window. Given that, who the hell would you drop to let him in the team and if, as I expect, the answer is Tomkins then expect us to get torn apart by a quick attacking team. On the plus side, if he is a replacement for Dann and we manage to pick up £2m/£3m for selling him then that will cover a lot of his two year contract so in that respect I think its a good signing.
