Indeed and he was transferred for £30 Mill !
Lerma, free transfer and thus far has proved an inspired purchase.
I was not aware that JWP was ever on our radar.

Umm Ward Prowse has proven to be a bit of an inspiration for Wet Spam, I know we used to be frustrated with him because he was always winding Wilf Up but he can still contribute.

Bloody right, he would’ve been a great signing, especially now Wilf has gone, as soon as JWP buried his first free kick in the top corner, I think I would’ve forgiven him.

This is pure wild speculation, but when JWP wasn't picked for England (again) I couldn't help but wonder if his antics with Wilf are what has cost him his place. Southgate is often a guest at Palace and seems to have some connections with us still. Is it possible he remembers JWP being a little rat and decided he didn't want that around England? I would find that hilarious if that was the case. It's unlikely, but regardless each time he isn't picked I have a little chuckle.

That would be a pretty left field reason!

JWP must be so disillusioned. Form, sharpness and standard of football now counts for nothing.

Might just be me but I don't think he's all that. Exceptional at set-pieces but I think the rest of his game is pretty ordinary.

So what your saying is JWP doesn't get an England call up because he's good at winding Zaha up and GS noticed it? Err yeah...

Of course it's highly unlikely, but there is that small chance that Southgate saw his antics and from a personal level though "God, I don't want that idiot anywhere near my England team." Last picked in 2017, just before the JWP v Wilf rivalry started (I was having a bit of fun, but I appreciate that might not have been that clear!)

He's at the best level he's ever going to play at, mid-table Premier League and lower level European. He's 29 in a couple of weeks, they've had a look at him and moved on. Very little point picking him for one or two games.

Surely more point than Henderson though. Will he be up for the Euros after a season in the dust?

Can we have a separate thread of people wish to discuss rat face.
