I agree. But it will be a pre-season to drill the defense. That means the new CB won't have to completely change anything. He will be trained into the new managers system. Don't get me wrong though, would love Sakho signs. Just think it's a big price. It is a big price. For sure. I'd just argue it's one worth paying. Fingers crossed anyway!

The Sun reports that we've made contact with Mauricio Pellegrino who left Alaves after finishing 9th in La Liga & reaching the Copa del Rey final. Keen to manage in England and good pals with Pochettino. Looks a good bet for a young, dynamic manager I reckon. Might fancy London as he'd be close to his mate at Spurs.... I'd happily accept him as Sam's replacement.

Parish always mentions FFP. I'd love to see Rodgers in charge but with parish paying 3m compo for pardew in the past and getting his fingers burnt. I can't see Parish spending that on compo. Don't forget that we probably had to pay £3m to get rid of him as well as the compensation paid to Newcastle to hire him in the first place

Pellegrino ticks all the boxes.knows Sammy Lee.knows the Spanish,Italian and premier league. Got a top ten finish with Alaves and got them to the Spanish cup final. Must of learned a lot working under Rafa Benitez being his no 2 at Liverpool.
