With Stoke looking to gazump our improved offer for the rather temperamental Saido,an auction may see his asking price rise to the figure WBA apparently want of £25m.For a player with a year left on his contract!! Prices have clearly gone bonkers and personally, also feel it time for SP to get the deal for Beneke this week,as we will be facing this issue regardless of who we target before the window closes.

You're right about the prices. You're right we might as well pay it. I don't think that is the problem. We might have money but we are still Crystal Palace.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

The funny thing is some of the delusional crew will have got his name printed! The big problem within the club, somewhere there is a bad stumbling block that puts agents representing players off our club. I really think it's whoever does the negotiations for us.

Notwithstanding a few seasons in the big league we remain very small beer. There are championship clubs who have a bigger international presence than us. We operate out of improving yet still inadequate training facilities, have a tiny dilapidated ground and are situated in the wrong part of London. And we are not playing in Europe. Sadly, had we won the cup it would have greatly improved our profile and given us at least the Europa league. As it is we are currently just a small club that has only once broken into the top half...just. So I don't think it is just down to negotiation. Our boys have their work cut out for them before they begin. Personally I wouldn't have it any other way. Slow progress rather than a rush for glory. However, it would make attracting a player like benteke all the more satisfying if it comes off.

What happened to the Ghanaian "journalist," saying the deal was completely done a few weeks back. Would love it someone had the link to his Twitter to check what he's saying now.

I have expressed similar sentiments only recently. At the end of the day we are not "Sexy" enough, so not as attractive to "Big" players as many on here believe. We have to be realistic !

Russian money, they splash the cash. That model for us would be too risky and possibly not sustainable. We do not want to be another Portsmouth.

This is a great point and exactly where I'm pointing. Our ceo or negotiators need to sell to players and agents just like great salesmen. Tell them a dream that, we don't want be the next athletico Madrid, we are the next athletico. Sell them a million and one things, promise them the world in verbal negotiations, but just be careful what's on the contract. Go watch the wolf on wall street and see how he can sell anything. That what we need negotiating players for us.
