No mention by the BBC of at least 50 Christian men, women and children hacked to death by Muslim zealots in a number of villages in Nigeria either. Imagine if it had been the other way round - not at all likely of course as Christian zealots tend not to hack people to death.

The absolute suppression of the provocative political stance putting the Northern Ireland Good Friday agreement on the line. All nicely swerved with the headline "Police on high alert for Republican return to arms". Look at the politics causing this situation in NI, and not just chuck it all at the Republicans. And what is happening in Eire , with all their newly-acquired immigrants,? the protests in Dublin ? The protests by Israeli's about their own Government, who meanwhile soldiers are still killing Palestinians and grabbing land. Meanwhile , in the real news, some person who's been on television is seen in a bikini somewhere hot. Oh , and there's a lot of traffic on the road this weekend. I disengage, I turn the page.

Notice I used the words 'tend not to'?

The main point was that the BBC and other media organs increasingly ignore news of criminality if it involves non-white people as the perpetrators, or if they do report it, play down and make excuses for them. If the perpetrators are white, they do the opposite.

BBC redundancies [Link] I can't believe the incompetency of the BBC. They have managed to upset their staff by asking for voluntary redundancies, never a good idea. If you are good at your job and wanted by other employers it's a gift and an incentive to move. If you are not great why would you volunteer knowing you might not get a job as good again. To make matters worse the BBC is saying it's not guaranteed volunteers will get it. "A BBC spokesperson said: ‘This isn’t about any new job cuts - it’s a standard HR exercise relating to savings we’ve announced previously - and it’s not targeting any individuals; we have to send it to everyone who’s at the same grade. We’re looking for expressions of interest in redundancy, not offering it, and it’s not the case that any or everyone who came forward would be accepted.’ " So basically they have decided to upset everyone rather than target people. It is far better to lance the boil, identify the useless and the overpaid and tell them the bad news. Sigh. One more point

If you are good at your job and wanted by other employers it's a gift and an incentive to move. If you are not great why would you volunteer knowing you might not get a job as good again.

To make matters worse the BBC is saying it's not guaranteed volunteers will get it.

"A BBC spokesperson said: ‘This isn’t about any new job cuts - it’s a standard HR exercise relating to savings we’ve announced previously - and it’s not targeting any individuals; we have to send it to everyone who’s at the same grade. We’re looking for expressions of interest in redundancy, not offering it, and it’s not the case that any or everyone who came forward would be accepted.’ "

Exactly and some of them would be the people you would want to leave as they are too expensive.
