Just for fun if Wilf is not to return and we had our pick:

Gray - On paper yes however I have concerns.
CHO - On paper yes however I have reservations.
Willian - A world class player on his day but that day has passed. Not greatly encouraging but wouldn't say no.
Danjuma - Always thought he was a good player. May have dropped off the boil but wouldn't be too damning of his signing.
ASM - Perfect

ASM and Danjuma would be my choices. I find it hard to believe ASM will come to us however I'd do a backflip and happily spend the necessary time in hospital after a failed attempt if he did. Danjuma I'd welcome too. Gray and CHO have the potential to be both great or disastrous signings given personality problems. Willian a top, top player but on the doorstep of retirement so would find it odd at the very least.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'd go along with most of that, although personally I have no great desire for us to sign Gray. As much as I'd love him at Palace I think we'd be priced out of ASM as I reckon Toon would want £40m+. Willian and CHO seem the most likely by virtue of the fact they'd probably be the cheapest options. I must admit I don't know a lot about Danjuma.
