If and when another referendum comes....and as happened before you're likely to see one at some point.....I think you'll likely to see a similar result.....Especially as we will again see the predictions of doom not come to pass.....though I expect some issues. Brexit will happen because 2016 happened......Another referendum won't happen until a Labour government get in. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Mar 2019 12.05am) Is there some science that says you suddenly go off the EU at 45 or something? Maybe there is simply a progressive changing of the guard. People have grown used to the EU and da yoof has grown up taking it for granted. And don't want to lose it. Edited by Mapletree (24 Mar 2019 12.11am)

What is this balanced opinion of which you speak Maple? Rod Liddle comes from the left, he wrote speeches for the Labour front bench, spent time in Socialist Worker, editor of the Today programme. And you lasted 30 seconds Maple. It's true that 'New Culture Forum' is on the normie right, however the right are far more willing to engage with the left than the other way around.....far less censorious and less authoritarian. Absurd. Using your 'logic', we must leave the EU and wait another 40 years for a third referendum. Using my logic you have a referendum when it appears strongly likely the electorate has a different view to the status quo. In reality as I have said before I do not think plebiscites work, there is too much information and it's impossible to get anywhere approaching objectivity with such a huge number of people to educate. So instead populism holds sway. Nevertheless, the genie is out of the bottle, damage is being done and we need to cauterise the problem. It appears a third referendum may be one of very few possibilities. To repeat, if the electorate doesn't want Brexit then it is undemocratic to force it upon them. If the electorate does want Brexit then its reaffirmation will be useful in the negotiations. And as you clearly believe the people want Brexit - and that the second referendum wasn't an aberration driven by other issues than EU membership - you have nothing to fear from one. So get behind it and achieve your reaffirmation. You know it makes sense.
