Brexiteers just talk meaningless jingoist tripe whenever they are asked to give any benefit at all from brexit. Like Johnson they don't understand anything about it because any details completely floor them. Frankly to take comfort from the pandemic and brexit together as beneficial, well you wonder what planet they are living on.

I agree with Cryst's post earlier. The EU were so arrogant that they wouldn't give Cameron anything at all and in doing that they ensured a "leave" vote. Had he been able to come back with some decent titbits it is highly likely we wouldn't be leaving.

Merkel is putting pressure on Macron but then again the Germans don't really care about fishing so she can afford to be flexible.

Macron of course is concerned about elections next year in France and the domestic disturbances so a bit of Brit bashing always goes down well with the locals.
