As much as I hate to say it, poor old seaweed could come to our rescue.
With their fluent, attacking football it could well be 6-, 8- or even 10-0 on the 22nd.
At least that should be the final straw for Roy.
A new manager cannot make the players younger, but no manager on earth can be worse at motivating players, and few can be poorer on substitutions.

He has to go now. He has plenty of excuses with the injuries we have but he has no excuses with the way he sets them up to play. Benteke and Bats*** was never going to work and yet he played them both and even worse stick with it till the 62 minute.
Luka and Riedewald have been getting over run for weeks in midfield and he still keeps playing 4-4-2.
After all these years he still hasn’t figured out how to play without Wilf.
Roy I have been very patient but please leave now.

Thanks Roy for some good years but it's time to start rebuilding for next season.players need to take responsibility too and the board need to speculate to accumulate and give the fans something to look forward to.lets make 2021/22 a happy place for the red n blue army

I’m assuming Parish does not want to sack Roy in his last job before he retires. Another performance like this against Brighton I think he’s on thin ice. As many have said Roy is VERY fortunate there’s no fans in the ground. It would be ugly. Shame it’s ending like this with Roy but again an unacceptable performance from the manager and players.

That was a Holloway style performance and as bad as anything Pardew served up.
From the first minute we appeared clueless and Hodgson never sought to rectify the situation with his usual passive resignation and refusal to adapt.
Such performances are becoming increasingly frequent .
We also have the second worse defensive record in the league and this is supposedly Hodgson’s strength.
Of course the players have to take their share of the responsibility, but Hodgson selects the players, the tactics , the evolving in game changes and is supposed to set the tone in leadership.

Scott Dann was woeful today, a player who has served us well but not PL standard any more at this stage of his career.PVA total and utter excreta as well, probably cannot wait to leave.
Guaita has been found wanting in some games as well.

I seriously believe that while players can express themselves in empty grounds with no pressure, the same applies to performances like that .Players and managers have it easy with mo crowd to voice there disproval.No way would this continue with crowds present .

Is Mr Hodgson the main problem or is the aged squad simply not up to the rigours of the PL any more ?
Today it would have probably been very different if we had Zaha,Schlupp and Tomkins in the team.

The first 20 minutes were among the most shambolic of any Palace teams performances in 55 years of watching them. Effectively game over after 12 minutes.
Too many past it players that instead of playing for a new contract look resigned to moving on or being moved on. It's sad to see the likes of Scott Dann now turning in such woeful performances having been such a reliable player for us in the past.
People will be clamouring even more now for Parish to sack Hodgson. If he does, then who to bring in while the season is still in play ? I think Dyche had a good view of the size of the problem he would inherit, but could potentially see that as a challenge. I doubt whether he would jump ship at this time however.
Potentially that leaves an interim appointment or someone that is available straight away.
So perhaps not such an easy decision for Parish to make.

There will be about twenty eight thousand posts in this thread by the end of the week. I suspect the sentiments expressed will all be pretty similar too.
A crap performance against Brighton and I dread to think how we'll be feeling. Lucky there's a lockdown. Without it we'd be getting close to Roy Out banners and protests - it's pretty dire currently.

If we were in the bottom three,or just a few points off the relegation zone, I believe that there might have been a temptation to make a change.In our current position I believe the likelihood is that Mr Hodgson will continue to the end of the season.
