Do you not understand that there will be 48% tariff on exported beef and lamb to the EU? Therefore the govt will need to support our home market and force / entice consumers to stick with home produced produce. In other words, make these foreign imports less attractive. Otherwise the farmers will need huge bailouts from the govt that we all have to pay for.
There needs to be a big drive for Britain First. Imported goods that compete with our own products must be taxed and tariffed accordingly. We cannot allow British jobs to be adversely affected by cheap imports. If that means massive handouts to keep open car factories in the north -east then so be it. The rest of us must pay and should pay as we all voted for this.
Brexit was never an economic decision. It was always a politically motivated vote and decision based on sovereignty and immigration control rather than economics. Some things are more important than money. I mean all this fish nonsense. We hardly eat any fish in the UK other than fish and chips. Its all exported to the EU. The suggestion that the nation is going to start eating expensive fish 3 times week is just a joke.

If an economy loses 16% it's worse than the great depression.
This is where car manufacturers, wine producers, food exporters in Europe have all been lobbying non stop to end the madness. Merkel has listened and wants a deal, Macron is playing hardball. Who will get their way, Merkel and all of the EU businesses or Macron trying to save face before the election?
It's basically not up to the EU, it comes down to the actual elected people in charge of member states. The stumbling block is France and a couple of financial windfalls a couple of the newer states want. That's it. Deal nearly done.

We are France's biggest agricultural export I doubt the French farmers are loving Macron sticking it to us. As for their fishermen something is better than nothing which is what they are facing now.

I maybe wrong about this next comment so I'm sure our resident Irish expert will correct me if I am wrong but the Irish politicians seem to have dialled back the anti British stuff in the last few weeks.

I think a no deal will hurt them so they seem quite keen for a compromise.

I would happily do a deal with the Irish and give their agricultural produce favourable terms although i assume that the EU would not allow that.

One more point

As far as I am aware from what I have read, Ireland exports most of it's goods to the EU via what is known as the 'short route' - Ireland to UK - by road to the UK east coast ports and shipped across to the EU.

If there is a no-deal exit, all those goods will have to have the UK import tariff paid on them, making it nonviable or they have to go the longer shipping route round England to Europe. For perishable goods this is a real no no as it adds so much time to the delivery.
