Fair play if they’ve told him to do one if his demands are unreasonable- maybe they were just a step too far in the end. Palace would have had to have made some serious concessions to get him anyway.

Which leaves us nowhere near an appointment. If Parish had wanted Cooper he would have appointed him, he was available, cheaper and without the baggage Nuno takes with him.

I may be in the minority here but I'm not too disappointed that Nuno isn't joining us.
- Wolves net spend in the last 5 years is £214m according to Transfermarkt.
- Yes they were hit by the injury to Jimenez last year but they only finished one point and one place above us.
- Their style of football is very possession based, quite defensive. Its certainly not overly attractive to watch.
- I am not convinced he would stay for the long term. That's just an opinion of course.

So it now appears this has collapsed due to new demands made this morning.

This just proves once again how quick things can change does not mean the information you are given is made up or wrong.

Even the top journalists were reporting he had signed last night.

Let’s hope we can iron any this out.

Got any links? I only saw reports that the deal was very close, NOT that he had signed last night.

Furthermore they were without Jota who was sold to Liverpool and I believe that Jimenez and Jota provided 62 goals between them in all competitions the previous season.
They also lost the influential 'Jonny' to injury and Doherty another influential player was sold to Tottenham.

The reports are that the demands were too much for Palace and they've decided to walk away. That's all we know. Mendes isn't a "bogeyman", he is simply not the type of person we should be getting into bed with. And the question marks over how it would all fit in with our particular club and structure was always an elephant in the room that very few Palace fans wanted to come to terms with. Of course people on the BBS are upset about this, because they live in an echo chamber where disagreement isn't tolerated and this morning was their scheduled w*** fest.

Parish & Dougie have got their own set up in place. Their job is to protect the long term interests of this club. They need to hire a manager who fits in with the structure we have in place and is prepared to work go with the intention of building & progression over the long term.

I'd rather us compromise on getting a "big name" than compromise on the fundamental set up of the club. As I said, if they've walked away, it will be with good reason either way. And I cannot say I'm overly disappointed by it.
