Yet there's no such margin for Hawkeye in tennis, where 'in' or 'out' can be by a gnat's c*ck, and everyone accepts it. In tennis it's basically just a freeze frame so that the position in which something, that has happened, occurred, can be checked. With Hawkeye there's also the element of it predicting what would have happened had the batsman's leg not got in the way.

My understanding (Probably limited), that that if the ball pitches more than a certain distance from the wicket and travels less than a certain distance before hitting the batsman, then any not-out decision given by the on-field umpire stands. Also I believe that if the batsman is more than a certain distance from the wicket, then not-out decisions will stand. All very complicated for a aged man like me who doesn't threaten brilliance !

Soooo excited for today. Please, please, please don’t lose your bottle England. NZ have some world class players in Boult, Taylor and Williamson but you still have to fancy us. If our openers get off to a good start then it’s almost hard to see us lose. Has been a terrific tournament and have enjoyed every game. Cricket needs a boost and an England win would go a long way to encourage youngsters to want to play. Come on lads!!

Kiwis won the toss and will bat. Seems sensible although it’s likely to ‘do a bit’ early with moisture and overhead clouds. Like the semi, could potentially be a good toss to lose. We’ll find out after the first few overs.

NZ seem to have England 'sussed' at the moment. Two England wickets thrown away as a result, and now way behind the run rate. Classic stuff from NZ, but let's hope it will change......
