It amazes me how there doesnt seem to be massive unrest between management and players considering how the players have been turned into the most dire footballing side in the country in the last 2-3 years. They all seem to just go with it and say the same bollocks in interviews after every game which by the way is always what Hodgson has said in his interviews word for word.Injury this injury that, great defence blah blah. I think they might just be too dumb to think for themselves or just don't care. I'd like to think if one of us was in that team I'd be asking a lot of questions because it must be absolutely horrible playing in a setup like that.

My favorite play of the day was when Ayew got the ball out wide, with no defenders near him, and he dribbled it straight over the touchline. Eze and Mateta may as well sit on the bench until we get a new manager. Haha, yeah, but you could see how f***ed off with himself he was, because he knew that was the only half decent run he was going to get the whole game and he fluffed it. We have to over-achieve a 70/30 chance to ever score. It's either a fluke, a defensive error or a stroke of genius. Too much pressure on the defense to avoid a mistake in 90 mins, and too much pressure on the strikers to finish the only chance they get, quite literally, every three or four weeks.

If the other option is going all in on J-9 like Sunderland & Portsmouth, then sign me up for another season of me moaning about negative football while we very easily stay in PL looking like s***e. I'll repeat the sad fact from last week: Crystal Palace have accrued their joint-best tally of points in a Premier League season after 25 games (32 pts), matching their haul at this stage in 2015/16.

The person to whom you refer is vastly experienced both at club and International level and he has kept us in the PL season-on-season on a relative 'Pittance'. I would never refer to Mr Hodgson as a "Dinosaur".A manager/coach does not last 45 years without the capacity to evolve. Edited by Willo (28 Feb 2021 3.04pm)

In the true spirit ‘if you don’t concede, then you don’t lose’ ... I think it’s a good point. We have an ageing squad, riddled with injuries which has shipped buckets of goals at point. I’m happy we kept a clean sheet again ... It’s back to basics atm and we’re defending well again. The other stuff will come in due course .,, 4 points + 2 clean sheets ... I’m happy with that! Some of you need to give you head a wobble and calm down ... Well said, boring as hell, but I'd rather it be in the Premiere League than the Championship. I just don't get people who criticize Hodgson, who's kept us in this league for 4 years with a negative spend. Of course its boring and dull, but look at the players we have, Burnley currently 3-0 to Spurs, Dyche wouldn't be any better. Without Zaha we have no pace in this team at all, time for these so called American investors to do what they was brought in to do, Invest.

It's not pretty but it kinda works.

Impressive outfit Fulham, but like Brighton the end product was missing. I enjoyed it, a hard-fought game noticeable how strong Fulham are defensively, not like a bottom three side at all. They are a better team than the sides immediately above them imo.
So 2 impressive outfits, 1 in the relegation zone and the other 3 points outside it. I think you may be missing the bigger picture.

A metronimic passer of the ball who dictates the pace and intensity. We don't really have one of them.

If I was the manager, I would change the system to 4-5-1 with two CAMs, keep the back four, Luka can be CDM, Eze/Zaha/Ayew in 2 CAMs, big guy at striker (I know Roy is slow-running Mateta in, same as Guaita back in the day) and Andros/Schlupp/Eze on LM/RM.

There's plenty of people in football who are vastly experienced and it doesn't make them great. And I'm not one for kneeling at his feet for keeping us up because there are a lot of managers who could of done the same without ruining the enjoyment of football at the same time. Edited by Willo (28 Feb 2021 3.04pm) Willo - why do you keep referring to Roy as "Mr Hodgson" it comes across as if it gives you/him some additional gravitas..!! It's just really annoying - he's Roy and IMO he's coaching and formations are now being shown as being archaic and outdated, so the reference to being Mesozoic are relevant and appropriate..!! The obvious weakness in your argument is that yes he has been in Management for 45 years - but is now well beyond his "sell by date" and "out of his depth" in terms of modern football, as his coaching, tactics and formations. Today's game and performance being a prime example of that. Time to move on..!! COYP

But you are not going to sack the guy who does the job good for a guy who might do the same job just as good, just more flamboyantly.

We'll probably stay up this season but another season of this and it may be our last in the PL. At least earlier in the season we put in a few decent showings for half of some matches. Now there is nothing to redeem our abysmal performances. We are truly shocking.
