I would say your view borders on pipe dreams than closer to reality though. Some facts:-
We are less appealing than most of the North London clubs (exceptions being the lowly ones like Leyton Orient / Barnet) as they all have a) better quality local areas than South London, b) better infrastructure (superior stadia), c) more loyal catchment areas (The reality is that most people in North London at least actually support Arsenal/Spurs whereas in South London we compete with all the other London clubs and the glory hunting faux Mancunians) and d) better pedigree (which gives them a wider pre-existing fanbase)
We are less appealing than clubs like Wolves (and even Championship clubs like Leeds, Villa etc). You may not like to hear this but billionaires will more likely rather buy somebody like that than CPFC
- It will be cheaper due to their Championship status - Their infrastructure is vastly better than ours - As is their catchment area and pedigree - Even if their infrastructure is worse it is far easier to develop a brand spanking new stadium on the outskirts of a town in the West Midlands than it is to piss about with securing planning permission in South London
In total there are probably 20-30 clubs more appealing than ours and until those are already bought we're well down the list other than for billionaires who are already supporters or have an affiliation for the club.
Well said, This is pretty much what I couldn't be bothered to write out and really didn't think it needed to be spelt out in such detail to a grown up. As mentioned before, If Palace really were so desireable to a non Palace supporting Billionaire why has there never been any interest? All reasons above are just a taster as to why not.

In my opinion, Ray Bloye was way, way worse than Ron Noades. Bloye was a chancer who had his eye on a fast buck. It was he who sold much of the land around Selhurst. Noades had no love for Palace whatsoever and bought the club because he'd had a modicum of success as owner of Wimbledon. He also sold off land around Selhurst but also did the unforgiveable by seperating the club from its ground and charging one rent to use the other, practically bankrupting the club and cutting Mark Golberg's legs off when it came to him trying to make a go of it. But Goldberg was naive and was never going to get anywhere with Palace in the long run. Too many people in the back ground were waiting in the wings to take his money. Jordan? Well, I didn't like the bloke but he had a lot go against him. Some poor decisions, some just bad luck. He wanted Palace to be a successful club but he rubbed too many people up the wrong way. In the end he had made too many enemies to ever have any hope of being successful. Parish I would say is the opposite of Jordan. Where he had bad luck Parish was fortunate. Jordan tried to get the ground for a fair price to free us of the shackles of crippling rents whereas Parish was fortunate to be able to negotiate with Lloyds Bank who, lets be honest were glad to have found someone that wanted to buy it. Jordan threw a lot of money at trying to get promotion, it took 5 years and he was immediately relegated. Parish was very lucky to clinch promotion within 3 years and has been in the top division ever since. So while I agree Parish has been successful I'd have to add he has been extremely fortunate on more than one occassion. Arthur Waite was als before my time too but from what I have hear/read about him he was in my opinion the best Chairman Palace ever had. A man of the people, a successful local business man and plowed pretty much all he had into making the club the best it could be. For the community to love and be proud of. When the Arthur Waite stand was built Arthur Waite himself personally laboured, grafted, long hours alongside builders, chippies, vollunteers from the area to get it built. Different time I know but I could never envision any of the other ex/current chairman mentioned doing that.

Aye i accept your point, I did think long and hard over whether Bloye should be at 4 and Nodes at 3 the clincher was selling to Goldberg but Bloye did milk the club too. So I'm not wedded to the position but like you I see Steve as the most pro Crystal Palace FC since Arthur. Originally posted by topcat

Noades maintained that if the ground deal had not been separate,CPFC would have lost the ground after Adminstration.

OK going to chuck this one out there as a bit of a conspiracy theory. But it could make sense.
Just read about Bolton's woes. In court today over unpaid debts: [Link]
This bit caught my eye:
`However, it is understood owner Ken Anderson has agreed terms with a buyer who will pay off their debts and the hearing was adjourned until 3 April.
The supposed new buyer is said to already own a major stake in a "high-level football club".`
Could that be Harris and Blitzer? Might explain why they want out of Palace now, want to be in control of Bolton, have free reign and complete control. rules are they are not allowed to be big investors in two clubs as could be a conflict of interests. Would explain the odd timing and announcement of the wanting to sell their share of Palace.

The yanks are parasites looking to suck the blood out of clubs without adding or putting anything into them.
English football does not need these kind of people.
