Suspicion is different from having proof.

This has to go beyond suspicion. May has sacked one of her own Ministers on the basis that she believes he broke the official secrets act. A criminal act. Even an act of treason.

And now he claims it is a feud with the senior civil servant behind it all.

This does not, cannot, just fade away. If Williamson did it then he needs to end up behind bars. Leaking from that specific grouping is beyond the pale.

But if he is innocent, as he is claiming, then there is something seriously amiss. And potentially game changing. Perhaps I am guilty of hyperbole here but I cannot see it in any other terms. This is truly new territory, even in our current f***ed up political maelstrom.

This is another gift to the opposition. If May has the proof they will say her cabinet has gone rogue which is true as collective responsibility has broken down over Brexit. If it is just suspicions then they will have a field day in pointing out yet another error in her judgement.

Either way it's another mess from this hopeless government.

It's subjective, the mp who wrote the letter is naturally pro leave, he talks about the economic good news without any specifics. To me the message seems to be that because we are leaving the BBC should get on board and start promoting it rather than focus on the negative side when in fact that is the reality. Brexit is a negative for our country, why should the Beeb dress it up differently?

Gavin swears on his children's life he didn't do it. Typical politician:

"Greater love hath no man than this, that he gets someone else to lay down their life for his."

Typical PussyBollox

You start off by saying that it's subjective because the MP is biased as he is pro Brexit then conclude by making your own equally subjective comment that the BBC should focus on the negative aspects of Brexit as it's a negative for the country thus following your own views

'Sedwill, who unusually combines the job of cabinet secretary with that of May’s national security adviser, has insisted on the need for a tough line against leaks'.

Sedwill is not independent and should not be investigating the leak.

A sort of civil service version of a kangaroo court.
