Are we really interested in LVG or is it just the media putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. LVG came over for a testimonial match and happened to mention that he would like to return to the Premier League whereupon he zoomed to the top of the speculation charts. There is some daft speculation going on at the moment including the fact that the Americans who don't know a great deal about football or the various personalities within the game are trying to force their suggestions on to Steve Parish

I think Parish was in the States last week to consult with our american owners, so I assume they have agreed on a shortlist. Personally I dont think LVG would be a good fit for Palace so I hope he is not on it! Would much prefer Dyche or Karanovic

I would be very happy with either of those (I know who you meant). Apart from Pellegrino, and he would be a risk, most of the others listed by the bookies concern me greatly. I just hope we hear something this week as it's beginning to go on a bit.

I believe things are being progressed this week but whether we actually appoint this week remains to be seen - might take longer.

I do hope you are right with the transfer window about to open the new manager will have to work hard to evaluate the current squad and then identify and hopefully get some replacements, where needed, without any match time, hopefully Sam left so helpful notes.

It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that the new manager could contact Allardyce for some salient information and of course gain knowledge of the squad from Sammy Lee.
