If you can furnish evidence to prove that we only approached at the 11th hour then you will win this mini argument. If not, then you will not. My guess: we try to do business under the radar given the number of poaches we suffer. I suspect Dougie et al have been forced to sweat for months waiting to see if the hoped linked deal will come off at Brondby. For no fault of our own it did not.

Why were we even trying to buy Adamou? We have defensive midfield players and centre backs we need more attacking players. We have no No10 and no cover on the wings. I've always defended SP but back on Sept 1st it was obvious what we needed and here we are on Feb 1 with the squad still unbalanced and lacking creativity. Roy has done a great job but the lack of substitutions in recent games has highlighted the lack of depths we have. With Sako now injured we have to hope that Wilf and Townsend are injury free (and no suspensions!) for the rest of the season. I have no issue with the 3 we have bought in - but they are all young and inexperienced. They will be bit part players this season
