Just watching Aki reporting from Croydon with Guns of Brixton playing on the background. Aki has been recruited by Finnish National Broadcast company (where his brother has been sports reporter for ages) to make inserts during olympics. Litmanen is still recuperating from injuries and there seems to be no news about him, except that he also has been to London for olympics. Finnish FA is arranging testimonial for Finlads "golden generation" (Hyypia, Litmanen, Johansson, Tainio, Niemi etc) on September 8th. 17 year old Joel Pohjanpalo has been this years sensation although he does not get as much time on pitch as most would like to see because of HJKs rotation and many strikers. He also has a hefty price tag and has visited ´Pool as You mentioned. I can´t wait to see him play against Celtic tomorrow. He was rested last Saturday along with half the team. Should Palace need someone like Aki, I would suggest Duarte Tammilehto from Honka. He plays Finlands U21, has a good shot and never gives up. Besides Honka is in dire financial situation so they are giving awy players practically for free. Due to Duartes Portuguese roots he might look that way though.

Aki was in the morning telly today (he´s a regular sports pundit there) and was also talking about the testimonial I mentioned earlier. He said that he has asked Dougie to play in the "rest of the world" team and Dougie has agreed. Litmanen has asked Roland de Boer and Hyypiä B. Zenden. Edited by drake (03 Sep 2012 8.26pm)

I´m not sure if this can be seen in UK but some of You might be interested in the testimonial last saturday I mentioned earlier. Aki scores first goal in 3rd minute (32:55 in video). [Link]

Cheers for the link Drake. I'm up to Litmanen's penalty to make it 2-2 at the moment. Loving the commentary and seeing some of the Finland starts. Mixu P's bloody huge now!

Yep, Mixu is current National Team manager and fans call him Paxu (Fatso in Finnish) these days. Decent away win against Checs this week though. Aki did a full length triathlon couple of months as a charity for bone marrow donor centre with Finland former Foreign secretary and current Foreign trade minister. I have a hunch that Aki might try politics.

Aki has finally submitted his PhD thesis. His comment: "After thirteen years. Not bad for a footballing blonde."
