Dunno where my rattle went,it was painted Claret and Blue. Never could get the art of chucking bog rolls,mates at the time could get them over the goal,with a long line of bog paper,mine just wouldn't do that...hated me mates who could. Rosettes were me favourite,had so many of most clubs at the time. The bogs at Thornton Heath clocktower...wow i'd forgotton about them.

Dunno where my rattle went,it was painted Claret and Blue.
Never could get the art of chucking bog rolls,mates at the time could get them over the goal,with a long line of bog paper,mine just wouldn't do that...hated me mates who could.
Rosettes were me favourite,had so many of most clubs at the time.
The bogs at Thornton Heath clocktower...wow i'd forgotton about them.

scarves! Singing and holding scarves up high, thousands of us so the whole terrace/stand was covered by a sea of cheap imported wool polyester mix. Don't even do that now And Cup runs. They were so exciting for so many reasons - huge crowds,etc - and because financially it could mean promotion the following season with buying some good players from the receipts. Singing and holding scarves up high, thousands of us so the whole terrace/stand was covered by a sea of cheap imported wool polyester mix.

Don't even do that now

And Cup runs. They were so exciting for so many reasons - huge crowds,etc - and because financially it could mean promotion the following season with buying some good players from the receipts.

Bring back the 70's!!!

Actually I did have to use a scarve as a bog roll once. Blue and white it was before. More Dundee United after.

I recall goalkeepers gathering up the paper and placing them behind their goal.Those were the days when keepers used to mark out their goalmouths with their boots to give them a better idea of positioning ! Seen many a boot been rubbed along wet barren areas !

I always managed to hang on to mine until my mother threw it out when I left home. Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Kids from SJC used to regularly get beaten up by rotters from other schools (probably Selhurst or Stanley Tech.) for their Palace scarves. I always managed to hang on to mine until my mother threw it out when I left home.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
