When you say Rangers were "the best" are you talking about the time when they wrecked Manchester?
Did they improve the place then?

Hello... Alan a Man City Supporters Club member here. Seeing as for most of you it will be your first visit to the Etihad, I'll try to help as best I can with anything you think will be useful. I've done this for quite a few teams, including Glasgow Rangers ( the best ), Luton ( the worst ), Blackpool, Forest, Notts County, Leicester, and a few I've forgot about. Hope it's a decent game and trip. Alanthemanc
Since no one else has said it Alan, I for one appreciate the offer. Top man for holding out the hand of friendship and useful assistance.

Them and Stone Roses fans last Summer are the biggest bunch of scumbags I've ever seen gather en masse in Manchester city centre.

Skinster. Yeh, there are not many pubs for the away fans near the ground. especially the two behind the away end, ( The Manchester, and Mary'Ds, ) big City strongholds. The only 2 near the ground where you can get in are Eastlands Bar, Grey Mare Lane, or The Townley 200yards away, which is a good un. Wetherspoons is a favourite for away fans mainly because the bus stop / tram stop to City is almost opposite. Another one in town is the Waldorf, a pub down a side street as you go down the ramp from the station as you get to Piccadilly, just ask half way down the road. Kro bar Piccadilly Gardens looks ok, not far from Wetherspoons. Other than that, Oldham Street,in the Northern Quarter, a short walk away, is a bit cool with quite a good pub crawl, with a lot of bars as well. Okidoke

Mapletree No probs mate, I don't mind a bit of banter either, as long as it's not Lutonish and smart arsey. Seem ok on here anyway. Got a feeling you lot will outsing City, the crowd is quite quiet lately. I might depend on how we do against the scousers 3 days before.
You'll be surprised how noisy we are, lots of fans of opposition teams thinks it's because we're in the PL and our 'cup final' but we were equally loud in the Championship.
Man City for the title this year, all I ask is please don't score six or seven against us!

To add to that, I'd recommend anyone into real ale visit the Castle on Oldham St as they always have 7/8 different ales on and it's a really good pub. No colours visibly allowed in there though.

I'm going as a guest of MCFC and will be in the directors lounge so I'm part of the prawn sandwich brigade for the first time!
Doesn't feel right having to wear a suit and tie to a footy match though..
Am hoping Man City have one of their complacent days and we concede less than Spurs or Arsenal!!
