Agree, Its a tough Job to take any premiership side down near the bottom mid season with most players you've not brought etc.. So stick with TP its the only way we will survive the season and to all the moaners shut up!

I have always had a look at peoples posts on here but have never created an account. However after reading posts and comments after the last four games I have decided to join the site and post my views on what some of our deluded fans have to say. When are some people going to realise how much we are punching above our weight this season. We are so fortunate to have been able to get Pulis in and be where we are. Wins against West Ham, Cardiff, West Brom, Stoke and Hull and suddenly people think we are world beaters. TP has worked miracles here and no wins in four and some fans think we are down and out already. Points away at Swansea and Sunderland go a long way to the 12 points Pulis said we needed from the remaining games. As for the United and Southampton games I wonder what some fans are coming to selhurst and expecting. United still have unbelievably world class footballers despite their bad form so we was always going to be up against it. As for the Saints they have four England internationals in their team so again it was always going to be a tough game to win. We need to appreciate what Pulis has done. He has taken over a squad and club that had the mentality of a Championship side and has managed to make them believe they can do this. I have every faith in Pulis that he will keep us up and some fans need to stop this "but we are playing boring football" crap and appreciate the job he has done/is doing. Rant over!
Look at Fulham, Cardiff and West Brom and even Villa they picked up great points where they shouldn't have and yet we can't. People will say they have more quality players and so on, but yet we beat Fulham, Cardiff, West Brom and even Villa. Just look at Fulham giving an 19 year old a chance so what's wrong in giving Bannan and Gayle a chance?

OP is spot on. I couldn't give crap about the style of football etc...As long as we grind out the points needed. Some of our fans are very deluded and have short memories, under IH we tried changing and kooked what happened. Palace are always known as the underdog and with Pulis in charge for me thats the perfect match.

Dont go then. While I'd like to see great football and us scoring hatfuls of goals thats not what supporting your team is about for me, indeed thats not support at all. Its wanting to be entertained, incidentally what a lot of the 'only seen them this season' fans at games seem to expect...

It's getting pretty ridiculous, the amount of bashing TP is getting. I agree in some respects (Bannan needs a game), but at the end of the day he took over when we were dire, and we now are out of the bottom three, with what is undoubtedly the cheapest and worst squad in the league. It's good management. Would I be happy if in five years' time, we played three defensive midfielders every game to just about stay in the league? Probably not. But for the moment, for the long term future of the club, and if we want to establish ourselves at the top level, then it is needs must I'm afraid.

We looked a better team when he played - we took the game to the opposition and Bannan was at the heart of it. I don't understand why TP dropped him, and why he isn't playing now. By contrast KG has poor games and contributes very little to our attacking force but gets a game every week?

I am not advocating blind faith (although they were a good band!), but we are in a position where we could retain our Premier League status for the first time. If we wish to aspire to playing good football in the future, then we need the funds to invest in better players and to do that we need to be in the EPL. So this season, survival is everything and Pulis is, by far, our best bet and how he achieves this is down to him. So far he has delivered beyond our expectations so, even if we don't like some of his selections or the style of play, let's just bury those thoughts for now and get behind the team for the last 9 games, or at least until our fate is decided, one way or the other.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand! My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right. (Member of the School of Optimism 1969-2016 inclusive) |

I'm as frustrated as the rest about the way we are playing and players like Banann and Gayle not getting a sniff in the starting line up. But if somebody would have said to me at the beginning of November when we played Everton we would take another 25 points,be 3 points above the drop zone with 9 games to go. I'd have thought you were mad, I thought we would break Derbys lowest points total and be relegated by now. So for me anything is a bonus.

If you look at my post history you'll see I reguarly attend matches at great expense regardless of what league we are in or where we are in the league. You'll also see that I do not slag off the team, individual players, management or the board. Am I not entitled to have a say when we put in two abject performances in a row, both home and away?

Of course you are mate, but either go or dont go. If you expect a return on your money then maybe its the wrong thing to spend it on. Isnt supporting the team more a 'through thick and thin' kind of thing ? Maybe its just me, but all I expect for my money is that Palace will be involved in a game for 90 minutes (and we make some noise). I dont think a poor performance can be equated to any cost. I will go until I dont want to / cant afford to regardless of what happens on the pitch. Because thats support isnt it ?

A lot of the time this season this site is like Business Studies teachers, lecturers and students criticising Alan Sugar's business sense, strategy, acumen. Apply that to Pulis, Parish. Pulis probably has more football nous than the whole of the BBS & HOL put together. So what, we didn't win at Sunderland. But they didn't win did they, and Pulis was no doubt very confident we wouldn't.
