A reminder - Puncheon, Ledley, Ince, Guediora, Campana, Hennessy, Dann, Mariappa, Gayle, Chamakh, Bannan, Kebe, Jerome, Dobbie, Hunt, Thomas. I'll work out who comes out on top overall once we've had a fair few votes. 3)Chamakh 2)Dann *drum roll......* 1)Puncheon

1) Jerome - fulfilled a thankless task that has only been fully appreciated in the latter part of the season 2) Puncheon - very hit and miss as is often the case with wingers. He has however been key to our survival 3) The third one is harder as there are quite a few people who could be included. Mariappa involved in our 5 game streak linking up with Punch, Chamakh defending from the front, Dann reinforcing our already decent defence and of course Gayle who certainly before last night had as many detractors as supporters. On blanace I will go with Chamakh for this season but think that Dann & Gayle will prove to be two of the more successful transfers we've had in recent years.

You can't put Gayle in there after last night. I judge it over the season. 3. Chamakh

I really thought he knew his football. He's been told.

1) Dann - Solid defender, doesn't mess about. 2) Puncheon - Redemption for that penalty miss and has chipped in with some important goals 3) Gayle - Those 2 goals last night, as well as that screamer against Villa shows he deserves a super-sub role.
"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

In terms of this season I go with: (1) Chamakh (2) Puncheon (3) Dann. Honourable mentions for Ledley (brilliant signing) and Gayle (work in progress but, even before last night, I was a 'believer'. He has the goal poacher's instinct). And yes, of course Pulis, well said that man.

Puncheon I put those last two over Chamakh because of the effort they put in every time they've played.

1) Punch
"they gave it everything, every ounce of blood, sweat and guts. They battled, they never ducked a challenge and, as their fans ripped their T-shirts off in the stands, creating the kind of heady atmosphere that has turned Selhurst Park into an amphitheatre" Matthew Syed |
