Not that long ago (relatively) pubs in Wales didn't open on a Sunday. Yes I remember that ! Wanted to have a Sunday lunchtime drink in Llanelli in the 70s and was unable to do so !

I remember when a pub was unique, rather than just another branch of the brewery. And the same goes for the merchandise. You try asking for a Scotch & Dry or a pint of Mild nowadays and all you get is a blank look. I recall getting a quizzical look in Elland Road when I went up for the epic 1976 FA Cup game.Asked for a "Light and bitter" and got served a "LIME and bitter" ! Regards "Mild", years ago an old chap was moaning to me that you couldn't get it any more. Whatever happened to "Double Diamond" and Watneys "Red barrel" ? !

All done. Wish her good luck. One of the questions was 'do you order your drinks via an app', do people really do this, oh dear!! It won't be long before people stop direct contact with each other altogether.

It won't be long before people stop direct contact with each other altogether. I never knew this "App" facility existed but I am getting a bit long in the tooth. As for the "Direct contact" I tend to agree with you.The times I have seen youngsters just sitting in a pub on their phones and not talking to one another ! SPEAK TO EACH OTHER for goodness sake instead of taping away on the phone with all this abbreviated text speak.

not that long ago(80's) , pubs oop north & in Ireland(both parts) did not serve womens on a sunday

Once again thanks everyone. The responses have gone through the roof and Male participation from 10% to 60%. She was really worried she wouldn't get enough responses but you have all helped save the day! I will feed back the comments re the cider etc.
