Eric Young or Andy Thorn, and Jim Cannon wasn't bad.

Probably Antony Gardner the best in my time. Closely followed by Dann and Fonte though.

Young and Thorn as a combination for me. With the ball at his feet I thought Sorondo was class, albeit brief. Scott Dann is going to be up there with the best of them.

Ian Evans was decent but I'd go along with Jim Cannon, Ninja and Andy Thorn. Dann is up there with them.

Always thought Gary O'Reilly was pretty solid.

In Big Mal's days we signed Derek Jefferies from Manchester City. I always rated him as a skilful CB. Not sure what happened to him after leaving us, but he never became the great player I thought he would?

I'd put Peter Wall as the best but it's close with him and Dann. Cannon, Thorne, Young and probably a couple more if I really bothered to think about it, would be not far behind.

As a partnership, a fluid joy to watch pair of centre backs Young & Thorn. As an individual Scott Dann - although as has been stated Sorondo made a big impression in the short time he was here! Scott Dann defo for me he has so much to his game that is missed unless you appreciate that he makes things look so easy so effortlessly.

I think Peter wall was a left back , but a very good one. Jim Cannon because he is Palace. I did like John McCormick and Mel Blythe.

Admittedly I don't remember too many but for me the best we've had are Dann, Moore and Sorondo. Too young to see Young, Cannon etc.
David Hopkin...... looking to curl one!!! |
