Some of these Car Warehouse type places are/were well dodgy. I went to one in Wales and reserved a car to pick up a week later after I had sorted out my finances. I asked them to sort out the radio security code for when I returned. The next week I rocked up in Wales and asked to see my car again... it was a totally different vehicle but had the same registration number! I knew it was different as the new one had a sun-roof which the other didn't. When I pointed this out to the salesman he just shrugged and said "Well, you're getting more for your money now!" I walked away.

I only buy cars after they have been through the RAC 218 point check, and the RAC have checked the warranty and HPI and accident background. If you mention that this will all happen before you buy the car, and the dealer says no to any of this, walk away.
