Are we doing this again ? Yawn. There is no reason to have a MOBO award beyond those who think that black talent still has to be promoted to counter perceived prejudice. I have never seen black people having a problem in the music industry, indeed they are very prominent, so in my view the whole thing is racist nonsense. If you want equality, you have to leave this stuff behind. The same goes for women only awards.

Got no issue with it other than the fact that it doesn't mean anything. On a related note Tom Jones is having DNA test because he's got curly hair and deep voice leading black people to accusing him of 'passing as white'. I don't know if I'm missing something but at best he'd be 1/8 and unaware of it, so that's hardly living a lie denying your roots. Can he have a MOBO? Edited by johnfirewall (05 Nov 2015 1.24am)

Imagine if we had a MOWO Awards - Bernie Grant, Diane Abbot, Blair Peach, and the rest of the Leftist pinko PC gone mad brigade would have a fit and label it 'racist'....Yet its fine to have a black award...you couldn't make it up.

I think there ought to be a Music Of Gay Origins awards night because let's face it, all the best music comes from there. I love Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, Queen, Elton John, Wham (especially the gay half), Will Young, KD Lang, Cliff Richard (allegedly).
