Despite dropping the need loudly aggressive fake Spaniard, didn't they go with the ominous 'false 9', which is quite a 'f*** you' if you're the reserve striker. Costa and Mourinho are made for each other, despite their spat.

Maybe that is because his wife just gave birth. At least that is what they said on the commentary as to why he was not in the match squad.

Remy was unavailable, Falcao is injured so that only really left Diego Costa as the lone experienced striker. They also have youngsters Izzy Brown and Dominic Solanke but they are both on loan at Vitesse Arnhem. I had heard that Hazard was played as a striker against Tottenham.Don't think they would have played Falcao even if he was fit !

It's obviously something that Remy will consider if we do go in for him, especially if Connor Wickham is playing well and he could well insist on guarantees before he entertains ourselves as a loan destination

Much depends on Remmy's outlook and not believing in the hype of Chelsea. He can completely reinvigorate his game by choosing to play for a team like Palace where egos are left outside the gates of Selhurst and whereupon the pulling on of the team shirt is a statement of fervent effort and belief in the club as a TEAM player. Pardew would nurture Remmy well.
