Nothing to do with the fact that the teaching unions despise Tory governments as a matter of convention and always fall in line behind Labour then? I wonder if that anything to do with the majority of teachers being Lefties he asked knowingly. NUT and all that ! Yes I have met a number of teacher "Lefties" over the years and got into several arguments with them much to the embarrassment of my wife.My wife repeatedly told me NOT to react but unfortunately I couldn't resist ! By the way my wife is NOT a "Leftie" !

I wonder if that anything to do with the majority of teachers being Lefties he asked knowingly. The Unions tend to be pretty critical of Labour when in power. In fact arguably they've brought down more Labour governments than Conservative.... Unions haven't been particularly happy with Labour in the last 20 or so years.

I Don't let facts get in the way of antagonising Gusset, although, you couldn't make up what is going on with his precious party at the moment. I'm here all week....

I must say that many of my teachers were on the left and quite a number I have come across subsequently but that is hardly a proper sample.

Really didn't know the political leanings of my teachers - wasn't divulged at all. I know that in a particular school in London where my wife was a teacher, the vast majority were die-hard lefties and as I have mentioned earlier I got in a number of heated exchanges with them.I recall having an argument in the 'Genevieve' pub in Streatham, in a restaurant in South London, in the school itself, on a school trip abroad etc etc etc.Bloody pack of Hyenas against me ! In the end my wife refused to take me to any event where the teachers were to be present. Edited by Willo (14 Jul 2016 5.52pm)
