They do me. When ever I shift role, because I have fairly high levels of security clearance, I have to prove who I am for each new role. Even if I transfer clearance from one company to another, I have to establish a ridiculous level of proof that I am the person who holds the clearance. That's a bit different to pot washer or burger flipper then. If they wanted guarantees they'd have a mandatory checking service that had to be done prior to employment. They don't want the buck to stop with them though.

Surely they would require a passport and a NI card in order to work in the UK (for taxation and NI contributions to be established). No one in the UK should be working without being registered for taxation and NI. Now granted you probably can get a NI card with a fake Passport, but its then moving from being an illegal migrant into committing actual fraud. The restaurant and hotel trades are basically dependent on employing illegal workers as a routine occurrence. Look up the right to work check sheet from the government. You need just one, of lots of different, acceptable documents. Not at all as straightforward as it sounds, nor as it should be.

What about the lives of the poor insects these so-called activists let go in the restaurants? I bet pest control is a lot less compassionate with unwanted visitors than the Home Office. #insectlivesmatter

From the picture I saw these protesters look like a bunch of yogurt knitters who would have wanted any excuse to go to war with any burger joint. Maybe if previous governments had not messed up on issuing I D cards to everyone illegal working would have been far more difficult

I work alongside the construction industry namely 'FLO/NLE' & Tideway sites, now I had a course last weds for Tideway & the documentation I had to provide as well as a passport( Driving license NOT accepted)& birth certificate, utility bill/bank statement & council tax bill! I inquired as to why I needed all this as I'm not working for them, but, will be visiting sites either delivering PPE/Welfare or transporting People/VIP's in my coach. They informed me that ALL people either working for or supplying to have to go through this process. Also I have to be FORS/Crossrail & CLOCS inducted/compliant. This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Isn't this just another case of the law becoming irrelevant when it comes to armchair politics? Another ethical issue, this time surrounding a company rather than say an MP? How would a chain specifically recruit people with legit looking dodgy documents to keep the costs down. 'Some' were on less than minimum wage'. Negligible saving there when there are loopholes anyway. Who the fcuk are like London Black Revolutionaries and Malcolm X Movement anyway and why have then recruited a load of white middle-class cnuts? I'm guessing the participants oppose there being border of employment controls. The left need to apply better focus to their campaigns.

The far left have no campaign, just want any excuse to go on a day out and throw a few bottles and placards at cops. So who'd win in a fight? Far left or far right group? Edited by Penge Eagle (02 Aug 2016 9.15am)

Edited by Penge Eagle (02 Aug 2016 9.15am) Used to be the far left, they tended to have the numbers and a lot of big lumping types from the Unions who could really handle themselves. These days, who knows, too many of the new left are pacifists, which to me, is contradictory to being a socialist.
