I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

My point is that such a tactic would only increase the likelihood of attacks. Most of the attacks seem to be from people already in a country, rather than those just off the boat, so to speak. I know. Repeating it doesn't alter the fact that it is an attitude fueled by the fear of retaliation.

Frankly, I think nuke'ing Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia, Syria and...... well most of North Africa should do it. Those that don't go up in vapour might well think twice about starting anything else.........

But weren't the radii small and the half life short, other countries do hold stocks if you really want one.

The same must follow that if you stop the immigration then the terror attacks drop ? Not necessarily true, preventing the allocation of refugees, could just as easily end up escalating terrorist attacks, by bolstering the capacity of groups to recruit from refugee camps. A good example in this could be seen in the way the PLO recruited and flourished out of refugee camps across the middle east (as did the PFLP, Hezbollah, Black September and Hamas). In the short term you could reduce attacks, but long term its no resolution of the problem of groups like IS, Al-Qaeda in fact it plays into their advantage long term. Of course, there are intrinsic benefits, not least in terms of intelligence sources and building networks within Syria.

We obviously worry about terrorism but this case underlines what we have to look forward to in our wonderful new multicultural Britain. This is why we cannot ever pander to religion. The complexity of conflicting belief and the sheer insanity of it all is plain to see. Well done politicians.
