Froome isn't a star outside of cycling, whereas Wiggins had moved into the realm of celebrity with his win and had Olympic success behind him already. Froome only has two bronze medals as it's not his main aim which is multiple wins of le tour (+ a Vuelta and/or Giro if he can do it). Murray is Wimbledon champ which is a home event, and gets far more viewers than le tour. Double Olympic gold medallist, again with a home win, and is current David cup champ and still defending it. No surprise he's much shorter odds with all that. McColgen was not only a lame winner, she robbed it off Bob Nudd for angling despite him getting the most votes. Bloody hell you have got a good memory, I had forgotten about that

I'm not sure many people think of him as a Brit either. I don't think he's ever even lived in the country (unless I'm wrong)

Not a popular view I know but I still think their are questions over him. The dodginess of Salazar / Oregon as well as the Kenyans all leave a slightly bitter taste. It's ok, all that Quorn is masking the traces of the stuff he's on...
Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan |

Kenyan born, South African based from teens to twenties and now lives in Monaco. His parents are British, he's always had a British passport and said even while representing Kenya that he felt British. Mo's parents on the other hand are both Somalian, he lived there until he was 8 and couldn't speak a word of English when he arrived. What it boils down to though, I think, is the accent and Mo learned English in England, and therefore sounds English. Froome learned English in Africa, hence the twang.
