Agreed. It makes me wonder whether he really meant "coleslaw"? Or he shops somewhere really upmarket. Posh shops like Marks and Waitrose put weird stuff in their every day type foods just to try to con upper class twits. They do it with crisps too, Elderplum and Prosecco crisps, I mean really? What was wrong with Wotsits?

Jazzing them up with other ingredients (bacon seems to be a fairly common choice) is just a waste of the other ingredients. And no, i don't have apple sauce with pork, a big dollop of mustard wins hands down.

It adds a bit of fibre and taste to a bland meal.

Coronation Chicken is without doubt one of the few remaining arguments for a just and loving god. Coleslaw is a quality thing, some of the cheap stuff is grim, but a good slaw is divine. Bit like potato salad, you want to find the right type for you. I especially like it with horseradish in a beef sandwich (nice piece of top side, with fresh baked bread). Some of the variants are sublime - Redslaw and apple slaw, along with cheese slaw.

Coronation chicken is good, although it has got the better of me on a couple of occasions when I've had it as part of a cricket tea. Trying to bowl after consuming a round of coronation chicken sandwiches isn't easy, it really repeats on you! Also, referring to some of the earlier comments, I see nothing wrong with adding dried fruit to savoury dishes. Used extensively in North African cooking and is delicious in a tagine.
