I've just watched it for the first time. The Palace defender tried to hold back the Brighton player by putting his arm across his neck - not that it seemed to impede the attacking player.

We need another Alfie Noakes, I'm sure the goalies were petrified when he started his ten yard run up and smashed the ball as hard as he could, don't rememmber him missing one.

I just watched it again. No arm across his neck. No holding back. No impeding. No penalty. Even the commentators questioned it. It was a while ago, so you can't apply today's rules. It was a soft penalty. Back then, they got away with kicking lumps out of each other frequently.

I remember Alfie Noakes missing one - his shot hit the crossbar and almost broke it. Can't remember the opponents - might have been Millwall. Ronnie Allen was a good penalty-taker.
