This is a typical HOL post. When Bamford's loan was announced everyone was pleased as we had just acquired the Championship player of the year. Ok it didn't work out but hindsight is a wonderful thing and I don't think that anyone can be blamed for bringing in Bamford at the time We get rid of gale stating he would be good in the championship but not the prem them get Bashford on the grounds he is doing well in the championship and low and behold no good in the prem. Everyone thought benteke was a good buy and he was if we gave him service but instead we lump the ball up to him. Edited by dannyboy1978 (12 Feb 2017 9.36am)

Disparity with wages and signing players like Benteke and Cabaye is a massive issue. The unity, morale and team work that made us such a formidable team when compared to the sum of the parts, has gone and now we have a bunch of disinterested individuals. Yet more knee jerk rubbish. You claim that disparity with wages is spoiling the unity, morale and team work yet the major complaints on HOL have been about those players at the top of the wages tree

We just need a couple of results (although I agree it's hard to see where they are coming from). There's only 2 points between us and 16th/17th (but may change after today). The team played better yesterday and the new signings are helping. We have a 2 week break now so time for Dann, Sahko and Mandanda to get fit. As Sam said, we'll probably be scraping till May. Let's wait to pass judgement when the table looks more dire. Sunderland showed yesterday that they are just as delicate at the mo. Leicester are in free fall. Hull and Swansea could still come unstuck and Bournemouth are still in it. Let's see what happens in March and we'll have a better idea of our position. I'm worried, but I still have a gut feeling we'll scrap through.
It's Red and Blue that unites us |

The problem started when parish started looking at a European place. To achieve this we bought fancy players like cabaye who changed what got us here in the first place. Pardew went for tippy tap football shipped out sperone who did absolutely nothing wrong NOTHING wrong. Every team has a spine. We have none. If Tompkins was so good you have to ask your self why did Westham get rid of him! We buy Wickham from Sunderland, guess why they got rid!injury prone! The whole thing has been a cock up and the team hasn't been run inteligently. We buy a 30 million pound striker and lump the ball up to him, Murrey and gale were suited better for that style of football and I don't buy that they wouldn't do a job for us. Grrrrr
I agree 100% apart from the Jedi bit.... he was a leader but he was poor quality. We need a young manager with a point to prove and less pre maddonna's. Benteke is good when he wants to be but he ain't a palace player.

From what I can see we now have a leader - at game yesterday and Luka is already running show after a week or so - amazing how someone with limited grasp of languages can look so settled and comfortable on his debut - this bit needs time (appreciate we don't have it) Luka is Jedi + passing + greater footballing intelligence. He never wasted the ball once and passing spot on for large part. PVA looked keen and sharp and half-decent defender. Think problems run deeper than anyone realised and Sam needs time as well but we can see what can be achieved if players switch on properly (Bournemouth). Benteke gets so much unmerited stick on here its untrue. In this team on his own vs 3 defenders every game he has my support.

I'm at the age when the memory has started to go but I'm sure that having initially taken Bamford on a season loan it was at the end of that season that we sold Gayle and not as you have suggested
