I, and I bet millions more didn't know. Mackenzie compared Barclay to a gorilla just as dozens of celebs have likened Rooney to a gorilla. There's no evidence of racism here. If it was it's career and social suicide so I doubt it was, unless he wants to move to the Deep South and wear a sheet over his body and head. The scouse stereotyping he is guilty of.

Actually, people in Liverpool who earn as much as Ross Barclay, what do they do then, because that's what he mentioned. Regular business owners certainly don't earn £40k or £50k or whatever he earns before tax. Not excusing Mackenzie because although it's an entertainment rag, it still shouldn't insult sections of British citizens. It's a thought provoking question. Who outside of London earns as much as prem footballers?

Unlike certain ex Beatles, the Moore's family, the Barclay Brothers and most of Cheshire.
