Whilst I dislike the woman, the point of socialism, ideologically speaking, is that we should build a society where the state schools were capable of providing a good educational standard, so that you wouldn't feel that you had to spend 300k to get a good education. Not that everyone should go to the same s**t school I went to.

It's all irrelevant anyway. They might as well promise free trips to the moon for all, as they've got no chance of getting in. Anyhow, back to topic. Labour shadow ministers can't count.

Yes politicians of all 'Hues' have been in trouble on TV but Abbott's shambles was very, very damning with the Shadow Home Secretary struggling to provide costings for Labour's pledge of extra Police. Just plucking figures out of the air paid for by CGT and Corporation Tax which they have used for a number of pledges.Seemingly everything will be paid for by CGT/Corporation Tax !!!!

As a general principle it is of course a good thing but unfortunately the way it was described this morning made it sound like a complete waste of money. One extra copper in every ward or something similar? Targeted policing is needed, the threats we face today have moved on since Dixon of Dock Green. International terrorism, cyber crime, etc need something slightly more nuanced than just 10000 extra beat coppers
