I think if Swansea win on Saturday then they are pretty much safe considering who their last match is against. Sets Sunday up nicely. Us or Hull for the drop.

Scenario 2 isn't correct. We draw with Hull and they will have 35 points. Swansea win and they will have 38 points. Hull therefore not relegated at that point, as there's one game left. In these circumstances we should therefore goad the Hull fans with "mathematically likely to be going down" rather than "going down", although I accept that may not be easy to chant. There's always one, isn't there.
Out of the nine possible outcomes, seven are in our favour.

On Saturday I'll be cheering for the Mackems like never before! A Sunderland win and we're safe.

There's always one what? One person who tries to inject a bit of ironic humour into an otherwise rather dull debate.

Our nightmare scenario is if Swansea and Hull win their last 2 games we will have to beat United

As long as he's not supporting the other team it makes no s0dding difference. Removing emotion is the best way to gamble although in this case it's insurance to pay for a season ticket when he might be p1ssed off we've managed to screw up our potential and throw it down the toilet, again.

We'd have to take one hell of a beating from Man Utd and they'd have to put a hat full past Spurs to make up the goal difference.

How any true fan could bet against the team they support, and that bet to be relegated.
