That is not what was implied in the article if you had taken the effort to read it rather than trying to be clever.

For the benefit of all those that would rather make a new poster feel unwelcome than check out exactly what was allegedly said, the implication was that Sam didn't know whether they had signed the new contracts yet not that he wasn't aware that they were being offered them

think it's a fair post.

Seems a bit strange to me that manager doesn't know who has/hasn't signed contracts as surely he should be the one directing the Chief Ex as to what to do.

Don't think it's necessarily a bit issue, but it was a strange comment from BFS

Now being reported that SA wants to hold crunch talks on summer transfers and potential targets with SP to determine whether he stays in South London?

It's a meeting to discuss summer transfer budget and strategy plus who to release and which of our players are being enquired about.

Or do you think Sam knocks on Parish's door and says 'Cheers Steve, I'm off on hols tomorrow. I'll be back in 2 months and we'll see what's happening.'

Yeh. Crunch talks. Do you believe anything in The Mail? You don't strike me as that dumb.

They are going to discuss the whole team, areas to upgrade and top targets I have no doubt. The only crunch will be the ends of their biros.

Despite the comments being written off by some as utterly deluded, a similar story has now emerged. Equally, if you listen closely to the recent Podcast, someone makes the point that Allardyce had apparently made it very clear he runs the football side of things. Anyway, lets hope there is no substance at all to this and any tensions/misunderstandings are laid to rest during the week. Nevertheless, I still find it surprising the comments he made on the contract situations of Hennessy and Delaney.

Whilst I would no more trust Pardew with a football team than I would a business of ferrets with a pound of steak, you'd have to be pretty deluded to think you knew more about how to make Palace click than Allardyce does.

S.Parish has already said that he was going to sit down with Sam after the United game and sort out transfer budgets. Sam has said he will be speaking with Parish and they will decide who is leaving the club and transfer targets.
Press turn that into Crunch talks? Making a story when there isnt one. All clubs will be doing the same as us.
I think we might get a bit of business done early this time rather than getting caught up in auctions towards the end. Confident the right players will come in.

You appear very innocent if you believe any crap in the papers, its meeting between chairman and manager to discuss possible transfer targets and departures.
What is so unusual about that, Allardyce has said in nearly every transfer window I can remember, how difficult it is to get players he wants, the same as every other manager outside the top 6.

If there were any truth in this then Parish should consider his position.
If he can't see that his tight arse Summer spending nearly got us relegated this season then he never will.

I hope it's not true but Jermaine Dafoe going to Bournemouth looks ominous.
