We enter the Season ill prepared with transfer business only half done. The change in playing style should have waited until the players were in place to deliver it. The risk is that we now face 2 home games v Huddersfield and Swansea which in the context of the Season as a whole should rate as must wins, when we are not yet ready. With Puncheon's powers apparently in decline and Cabaye looking more and more injury prone, we needed a high Calibre creative midfield signing. Loftus-Cheek is a good prospect but isn't yet a top class midfield leader. Our defence is a concern. The work put in by Big Sam to produce a Unit capable of keeping Clean Sheets has already been unpicked by FDB and we won't win games when we concede goals, as Pardew showed in 2016. Benteke needs more supply to make the most of his aerial threat in the box. Playing our best 3 players Milo , Townsend and Wilf not in their strongest positions in pre- Season makes no sense to me. Also , we have missed opportunities, like signing Begovic or Lee Grant, to sort out our weakness in the absolutely crucial goalkeeper position. Thank goodness we have a decent run in of fixtures to finish this Season. I'm hoping for a Clean sheet and a confidence boosting win over Huddersfield . I suspect we might see a draw as we continue to concede a goal or two.

I think first few games Townsend and Mila will be out of position but when the season really gets going there is no way the front 3 isn't Zaha-Benteke-Townsend.

Do not panic.

If we're playing those players out of their position in a 3-4-3 then we shouldn't be playing it. If the players suit the 3-4-3 positions then fine, but don't expect it to be accepted if we're failing at it with players out of position.

It's better than playing Luka out position, which I think frank will deploy against Huddersfield
