OP: I also went to Nottingham University though I graduated before most people were born! I was brought up in the Croydon area and for my first visit to SP I was taken by a friend of my parents to attend a dismal match against Shrewsbury in 1955. But really got to going here with a group of friends starting in 1961 for the epic Peterboro contest in the legendary Johnny Byrne days. Now that Brazil has been my adopted country of residence for many a year, being physically present at matches is out of the question, barring the rare long, boring flights over I increasingly lack the desire to endure. Anyway, it was a pleasure to answer your questionnaire to the best of my ability, and wish you the best of fortune with your endeavour.

Have completed the servey but am not sure that you have asked the right questions. You seem to presume that all palace fans live in south London hence the maximum expected travel option is over 10 km. This is not the case. I like many other palace fans was born locally but have since moved away (in my case Hastings) but still have season tickets. I would guess that it would be more relevant to ask how far people traveled when they first supported palace. Hope this helps.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
